The OG Air Jordan VI White Infrared released in 1991 and were worn by Michael Jordan in his first NBA championship win.
The first slew of retros occurred in 2000. After a few random releases (including low top VI’s), the model started to get retro’d heavy again in 2010. This particular retro came out in 2014 with the same all leather upper as the original. These come with white laces and infrared lacelocks.
It’s easy to create an outfit with these. Rather than try and match up the pink, instead go for a black, white and grey clothing combination. This subdued mix provides a dope contrast to the bright white and pink on the shoe.
Some argue that the shade of infrared used on this retro is too pink. However, in my opinion, the shoe is too clean to get hung up on minor details. The black and infrared hits pop all crazy off the white leather and make this an eye-catching throwback to the original release. Fans of the Air Jordan 6 should have at least one version of these in their collection.
Materials
These have a full leather upper and it is typical 2010 Jordan Brand quality. That is to say, not great. Although the materials are smooth and stiff, at least they are not shiny or plasticky. These kicks might not have the best leather in town, but the quality isn’t the worst either. Rather, the overall build of this retro is passable.
Fit
The Air Jordan VI White Infrared fit big. I should have gone down half a size as these fit like roomy boots. That said, these are very comfortable. After getting past the complicated lace-up, these J’s provide a loose, comfy ride that doesn’t butcher my pinky toes.
